Who we are
Compare Legal Software is a free quote-comparison service for U.S. law firms. We help attorneys and firm administrators compare proposals from pre-vetted legal software vendors side by side without sitting through a long string of sales calls.
This site is operated by CompareLegalSoftware.com (“we,” “us,” “our”). Our website is comparelegalsoftware.com. Our mailing address is 9633 Waterford Place, Apt 312, Loveland, Ohio 45140.

Scope of this policy
This policy explains what information we collect when you visit comparelegalsoftware.com, fill out our comparison form, send a message through our contact form, or interact with cookies on our site. It also covers how we use that information and who we share it with.
It does not cover the privacy practices of the vendor partners we introduce you to. Once we hand off your information to a vendor you have consented to hear from, that vendor’s own privacy policy governs what they do with it. Please review each vendor’s policy before sending them additional information.
This policy also does not cover third-party websites linked from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any site we do not control.
Information we collect
We collect information in three ways:
Information you provide
- Comparison form submissions, including your name, role at the firm, firm name, firm size (number of attorneys), practice area, current software, and contact information (email and phone).
- Anything you send us through our contact form or by direct email.
- Consent selections you make on our forms (for example, the box authorizing us and our vendor partners to contact you).
Information collected automatically
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see below).
- IP address.
- Browser type and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages you visit on our site and the order you visit them in.
- Referring URL (the page or ad you came from).
- Facebook click ID (fbclid), Facebook browser ID (_fbp), and Facebook click cookie (_fbc) when you arrive from a Facebook or Instagram ad.
Information from third parties
- Meta Platforms (Facebook/Instagram) when you click one of our ads — we receive ad-attribution data so we can measure ad performance.
- Google Analytics — aggregated information about how visitors use our site.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Route your quote request to the two to three vendor partners you have consented to receive quotes from.
- Respond to questions you send us through our contact form or by email.
- Measure the performance of our advertising and improve our website and offers.
- Build and analyze marketing audiences (for example, lookalike audiences on Facebook).
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud or abuse of our service.
- Comply with our legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
We do not provide legal advice, and we do not collect or process client-matter information through this website.
Who we share your information with
We will be upfront: the core of our service is connecting you with vendor partners, which means sharing your form submission with them.
Vendor matching. Form submissions are processed by Compare Legal Software and routed to a small number of vetted legal software vendors whose products match the firm details you provide. The current partner list is shown to you inside the form before you submit. Each vendor uses your information according to its own privacy policy. After we hand off your information, the vendor — not us — is responsible for how they contact you and what they do with your data.
Analytics and advertising processors. We share limited information with Google (Google Analytics 4) and Meta Platforms (Facebook Pixel) for advertising measurement, conversion tracking, and audience-building. These processors handle the data under their own privacy policies and our agreements with them.
Legal compliance. We may share information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, court order, subpoena, or to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will update this policy if that happens.
We do not sell your personal information. We do share it with vendor partners as described above — that is a core part of the service you have signed up for, not a sale.
Cookies and tracking technologies
We and our processors use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, measure performance, and improve our advertising. Specifically:
- Form cookies — used by our form processor to handle your submission and prevent duplicate or spam submissions.
- Google Analytics 4 cookies — _ga, _gid, and _ga_* cookies used to measure traffic and understand how visitors use our site.
- Facebook Pixel cookies — _fbp and _fbc cookies used to measure ad performance, attribute conversions, and build advertising audiences.
- Session cookies — short-lived cookies used to maintain your session as you move through the site.
You can disable cookies through your browser settings. If you do, parts of the site (including our comparison form) may not work properly.
Communications consent
By submitting our comparison form and checking the consent box, you authorize Compare Legal Software and the vendor partners you have selected to contact you by email, phone (including pre-recorded and autodialed calls), and SMS text messages at the contact information you provided.
Consent to be contacted is not a condition of any purchase. You are not required to give consent to receive marketing calls or texts in order to use our service or buy anything.
Message and data rates may apply for SMS. Message frequency varies. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of SMS from us.
You can opt out of our communications at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any SMS message we send.
- Clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email we send.
- Emailing info@comparelegalsoftware.com and asking us to remove you from our marketing lists.
To opt out of communications from a vendor partner you have been matched with, contact that vendor directly. We do not control their communications and cannot remove you from their lists on your behalf.

Data retention
We retain form submissions for 24 months unless you request earlier deletion or longer retention is required by law. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including:
- TLS encryption on our website and on form submissions.
- Secure servers and access controls limiting who on our team can see your information.
- Reputable third-party processors (Google, Meta) for data we hand off to them.
No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

You have the right to ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you.
- Delete your information.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Stop sending you marketing messages.
- Opt you out of certain types of data processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@comparelegalsoftware.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” Include the email and phone number you submitted on our form, along with what you would like us to do. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within 30 days, or sooner if required by applicable law.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of the page. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice — for example, by posting a notice on our homepage or, where required by law, by sending an email to the address you provided.
